Anna Bolson

Anna Bolson, 82, passed peacefully on Friday, March 23, 2012. Anna’s husband of 60 years Donald and son, John both passed in 2011. The past year has been difficult for her, but because of her strength and determination and with the love and care of her family, she was able to remain in her home. Anna’s loving family, son and daughters-in-law: George and Nancy Bolson, Trudy Bolson and Sherry Gregg as well as her grandchildren: John Jr. and Christina Bolson, Jennifer and Jason Casey, Jessie Bolson, Victoria Schweckendieck, Zachary Schweckendieck, John Michael Bolson, Kathleen Bolson, Nathan and Melinda Miner, Justin and Kerry Miner and 11 great grandchildren will surely miss their mom and grandma as will her several nieces and nephews. Anna was born in Maine, NY on August 18, 1929 a daughter of Frank and Anna (Mydlek) Karpensky. She assisted Don in the operation of the family farm, was an employee of Endicott-Johnson for a time and later became one of the first female school bus drivers for the Maine-Endwell School System, a position she held until her retirement in 1984. Anna grew and tended beautiful flower beds, loved to polka with her dear Don, and delighted in baking cookies for her ‘special’ people. A funeral service and celebration of Anna’s life will be held at 11 am on Monday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley with Rev. James T. Willard, officiating. Burial will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends TODAY, Sunday, from 4-7 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home. Her family would also like to extend a very special ‘Thank you’ to all those who helped provide tender loving care to Anna, especially, Dr. Gehring and nurse Amila, Dr. Harris, Dr. Tang, her home health care assistants, Ann Marie Vergason, Sherry Gregg and Wilson North Tower 3 nursing staff. Memories and condolences may be written in her guest book at macphersonfh.com
